A variety of edges for countertops and tables are available in full thickness or laminated.
The choice of edge affects the appearance of a countertop with the ability to make thin slabs appear thicker or thick slabs appear thinner. For example a bevelled or ogee edge will accentuate the thickness of the slab while a full bullnose will diminish it.
Additionally, laminated edges make thin slabs look thicker and can thereby significantly reduce the cost of large orders of identical products by allowing more slabs per container load.
The diagrams below illustrate some of the most common traditional and laminated edge types.
